Benefits of Joining a Support Group
Support groups bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences. The common understanding among support group members often means they have similar feelings, worries, everyday problems, treatment decisions or side effects. Consider making connections and getting help from a support group today. The support groups do not meeting in December. To confirm meeting dates, please call Older Adult Services at 248.347.0414. Listed below are the support groups hosted by Older Adult Services:
Hearing Loss D.A.T.A. Group – Support Group Meeting
4th Thursday, 1:30-2:30pm
Join us for a monthly support group convening for the purposes of Discussion, Awareness, and Technological Assistance for those with hearing loss. The goal of the support group is to enable people with hearing loss to learn coping strategies and know you are not alone.
Age: 50+

Location: Meadowbrook Activity Center – Conference Room
Bereavement Support Group – “An Opportunity to Heal”
3rd Tuesday, 7:30-9pm
The grief process is unique to each person. Nonetheless there are certain phases that have been identified in recent years. In the monthly group support meeting, facilitated by Dr. Meyer, those
attending have an opportunity to share their experience and learn about the phases of grief. It is quite often a truly healing experience for those who attend. All are welcome. This program is presented in association with O’Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home.
