Board of Review Petition
The Board of Review will meet for the purpose of hearing and considering assessment protests in the City of Novi. No appointments will be given until a petition is received by the Assessing Department.
Poverty Exemption Application/Information
Application for Poverty Exemption
Persons on a fixed or limited income may be eligible for a reduction in property taxes due to poverty. The application for Poverty Exemption must be completed, in full, and submitted to the Board of Review (via the Novi Assessing Department). It must include information regarding all persons residing within the household, whether or not they own the property, and include supporting documentation including: the prior two (2) years’ tax returns, recent bank statements, current IRA/401K statements, and all other required documentation (see application). Be prepared to provide additional supporting documentation at the request of the Board of Review to verify income/expenses/assets. Poverty reduction is not a permanent change to your assessment; it must be applied for annually and approved by the Board of Review.

Address Application

Truss Schematic Plan Requirements
Truss specs and truss layout will be required to be on site for the rough building inspection. These must be on site before an inspection can be performed. In addition, the specifications must be signed and sealed by a registered architect or engineer from the State of Michigan and have the job address on the specs. Once the rough inspection is approved the inspector is to take (1) one copy back to office to be filed in the specific project file. With regards to the plan review, a truss layout must be submitted along with the plans to be reviewed. In addition, the plans must show structural point loads, header material, header sizes, laminated beams, micro lams, etc.
