Access to nutritious meals can be a challenge for many older adults. Older Adult Services facilitates two food commodities programs to assist low-income households.  Focus: HOPE - Food for Seniors Program and TEFAP - The Emergency Food Assistance Program provide a free commodity food supplement.  Please see eligibility requirements below. 

Focus: HOPE - Food for Seniors Program

Focus: HOPE - Food for Seniors Program provides a free monthly commodity food supplement for older adults who are 60 years of age or older and reside in Oakland, Wayne, Washtenaw or Macomb counties. Income eligibility: 1 person household $1,632 or less monthly; 2 person household $2,215 or less monthly. This commodity food program allows you to enhance your quality of life by supplementing your food budget. You must pre-register. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. TEFAP - The Emergency Food Assistance Program

The Emergency Food Assistance Program provides quarterly food for households which are income eligible: 1 person household $2,510 or less monthly; 2 person household $3,407 or less monthly.
