Meadowbrook Road Rehabilitation:  10 Mile to 11 Mile

Progress:

11/17/25: All paving is now complete. Over the next couple of days, the contractor will be backfilling and regrading along the gravel shoulders as well as installing all new permanent signage. On Thursday, the striping contractor will be on-site to place the permanent pavement markings. If the weather holds out, Meadowbrook Road will be reopened to two-way traffic on Thursday or Friday of this week. Some restoration work will be done under minor flag control next week, but the bulk of permanent restoration will be undertaken in the spring of 2026.

10/29/25: This week, the contractor plans to pave the leveling courses of new asphalt on the southbound lane(s). Next week, they will finish up the grading, ditching, and shoulders. Then, weather permitting, they will pave the top course of the entire segment. All work is expected to be done under mild traffic control and flagging.
For the remainder of this project, the traffic flow will remain southbound only. The detour is still east on 10 Mile, north on Haggerty, west on 12 Mile, and back to southbound Meadowbrook.

10/14/25: Northbound lane milling is complete. Paving with new asphalt began on Monday, October 13, and is scheduled to continue through Tuesday. The contractor anticipates shifting traffic onto the newly paved northbound lanes either Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Following this traffic shift, milling of the southbound lane(s) is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 17.

Traffic Impact Note: Please anticipate brief but intensive delays near the 10 Mile intersection for approximately two hours during the milling and paving process. The contractor will utilize flagging control to safely manage traffic during this specific period.

9/30/25: The contractor will be closing northbound Meadowbrook Road on Monday, October 6 to start milling the existing asphalt, making repairs to the milled surface, and placing new asphalt. The northbound detour will follow 10 Mile Road east, Haggerty Road north, 12 Mile Road west, and back to Meadowbrook Road (see detour map below). The detour will be in place for approximately three weeks.

9/29/25: Widening of the road started today.  This phase of the project should have a very minimum impact to traffic.  We anticipate this taking 2-3 weeks.  

Description: The City will be rehabilitating Meadowbrook Road from 10 Mile to 11 Mile Roads (Phase 2). The plan is to rehabilitate the existing pavement by cold milling and repaving with new asphalt; ADA sidewalk upgrades; and updating of existing signage and pavement markings.

Traffic Control/Detour: Southbound traffic will be maintained throughout the duration of the project no matter which side of the roadway is being worked on. Northbound traffic will be detoured east on 10 Mile Road, then north on Haggerty Road, west on 12 Mile Road, and back to Meadowbrook Road.
