Many subdivisions in Novi have open spaces that are home to diverse wildflowers and wildlife. Unfortunately, invasive species of foliage have moved into many of them, decreasing the diversity of wildlife, and ease of enjoying these open spaces by residents.

The City of Novi is giving Homeowner's Associations the chance to have woody invasives like buckthorn, honeysuckle, and autumn olive chipped and taken away for free if neighborhood groups will voluntarily do the actual removals.

City staff will train HOAs on identifying and how to remove the invasive foliage. This can be a fun group activity with many benefits for your subdivision.

This program is intended for subdivisions as a group, not individual homeowners. If your HOA is interested please contact the City Landscape Architect, Rick Meader at rmeader@cityofnovi.org.
