March 2022 - Detective Julie Warren

Julie Warren, Detective

For your commitment to the safety of Novi students and pursuit of innovative ideas, congratulations on your selection as the March Novi Public Safety - Employee of the Month.
You were nominated by Lt. Amanda Kulikowski and Detective Jon Zabick.  It was noted that in the wake of our last full-scale exercise at Novi High School (June 2019) it had been advised by public safety that the Novi Community School District get Stop the Bleed (STB) kits into every classroom in the District, as well as other spaces within each building.  You worked diligently to obtain these STB's, even attempting to procure them by way of pursuing a grant on behalf of the District and speaking to District superintendents and Board of Education members whenever the chance arose.  In the many school safety planning sessions with the District, after the Oxford incident, you started the discussion on STBs with fresh urgency and were vocally insistent that the District make the investment in these lifesaving additions to classroom safety.  Ultimately you were able to convince the District to purchase close to 600 STBs for the Novi schools and then assisted in installing them.  This is a major step in school safety that has been a long time coming. But the need has been met, only because of your commitment to its value for our students, and your tenacity to see it get done.
You are recognized for your dedication to your profession and the students who are entrusted to your care, as well as your tenacity and exemplary work ethic. You truly embody our vision statement of partners with our community.
To show our appreciation, a $25 gift card has been placed in your mailbox.  Congratulations on being named as the March 2022 Public Safety Employee of the Month.
