Londan Hudspeth, Dispatcher

For your teamwork and actions under an incredibly difficult situation, you were both nominated by Dispatch Shift Leader Kelly Mesh, Firefighter Amir Farahani, Firefighter Troy Racicot, and Fire Protection Officer David Pieknik. Congratulations on your selection as the July Novi Public Safety Employees of the Month.

Around 4:40 p.m. on July 7th, 2021, while both of you were on duty, a major storm rapidly blew into Novi bringing down several trees, power lines, and even causing a structure fire. Two hundred and five phone calls came into the dispatch center generating thirty-seven fire department calls for service. Additionally, the two of you fielded a large quantity of calls that required a police department response. Together, you worked tirelessly to rapidly and efficiently answer the large amount of phone calls, prioritizing and dispatching each one to the respective public safety department. It was a team effort by all on duty but dispatch was the initial point of contact and each of you did a stellar job deciphering and disseminating all the calls for service.

You are recognized for your dedication to the citizens of Novi and your embodiment of teamwork, professionalism, and service. Congratulations on being names the July Public Safety Employee of the Month.
