November 2018 - Lieutenant Mark Pehrson
Public Safety Employee of the Month - Lieutenant Mark Pehrson
I wish to extend my appreciation and congratulations to you on your nomination and selection as the Novi Public Safety Employee of the Month – November 2018. You were nominated by Paid on Call Firefighter Dennis Barratt and selected by the Public Safety Innovation Committee for your outstanding and relentless efforts in mentoring and teaching the probationary firefighters of the Novi Fire Department.
Your continuous efforts training and mentoring of the probationary firefighters, sets the bar high. You are a tremendous example to recruits and fellow firefighters regarding the unselfish manner in which you share your knowledge to the new members of the department. You have spent numerous hours on and off shift, working with our firefighters to complete their training modules and driving certification with the highest proficiency. You model the way for all who watch you, instilling confidence to the team with your positive work ethic, and a myriad of other skill sets.
With the implementation of Aladtec, the new scheduling software program, you played a pivotal role in training. To ensure accuracy of the program, you spent countless hours developing additional reports, unique to the Novi Fire Department. Most recently you spearheaded report development for both the tracking of vehicle maintenance, and documenting required probationary training.
Additionally, your kind heartedness and generosity shines through regularly. Just a few weeks ago, you assisted a family who was displaced from their home after a fire left it uninhabitable. Not only did you help the family move out of the fire damaged residence, you were instrumental finding them a new home, and also navigating the required paperwork to receive assistance from the State.
Due to your leadership, compassion, and commitment to serve, the full-time fire and police command officers and administrators congratulate you on being named Public Safety Employee of the Month – November, 2018.
