September 2014 - Captain John Martin
Captain John Martin
Fire Lieutenant Todd Seog was nominated by Captain John Martin and selected by the Implementation Committee as the Public Safety Employee of the Month for September, 2014. Lt. Seog’s nomination was for the consistent and outstanding work he does on behalf of the Novi Fire Department.
As well as his daily job requirements, Lieutenant Seog is accountable for the City Disaster Ready Kits. Lt. Seog makes certain the supplies for the kits are current and available for use when needed. Additionally, Lt. Seog test and maintain the entire supply of City owned Automated External Defibrillator’s (AED) and the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment. Furthermore, Lt. Seog mentors many of the new employees equipping them with the necessary skills to successfully pass their training; enabling them to seamlessly integrate into the Fire Department. Lieutenant Seog’s successful coaching and support of the new employees will benefit not only the citizens of Novi but maintain the high level of service expected from the Novi Fire Department.
Recently Lt. Seog appeared in Circuit Court as a witness in the homicide trial of Peter Jones. Earlier in the year, he was dispatched to West Glen Haven Circle as the on-scene Incident Commander. When called upon to testify in court last month, Lt. Seog clearly and concisely communicated his observations of the crime scene to the jury who ultimately convicted Mr. Jones. Lieutenant Seog’s appearance and attitude in court has been described as “excellent.” His professionalism and diligence in carrying out his responsibilities reflect positively on each of us. It is with great pride the members of the Novi Public Safety Team recognize Lt. Seog’s outstanding work.
