Shredding Saturdays
First Saturday Every Month, 9am-12pm
Through a partnership with Corrigan Record Storage, Novi residents may recycle up to 300 pounds with NAID Certified Secured Shredding for a $5 fee. Over 300 pounds is $.05 per pound. Hard drive destruction is available for a $5 fee.

Grab your Nerf guns and get ready to battle. An all-out Nerf war is about to begin with capture the flag, hunger games, humans vs zombies and freeze tag. Bring your own Nerf guns, darts will be supplied. Each participant will receive a snack and hot chocolate.

Pitch, Hit & Run™ is the official youth skills competition of Major League Baseball®. This FREE competition is an opportunity for young baseball and softball players to prove their ability to pitch, hit and run among the best in their age group. If your child advances through three rounds, they could compete in the national finals on an all-expense paid trip to the MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta. Finalists will compete on-field prior to shagging fly balls during the Home Run Derby and attend the All-Star Game. The road to Atlanta starts here!

Finding Bigfoot

Have you heard there have been sightings of Bigfoot in Novi? Weekly, Bigfoot will travel to different parks, buildings and shopping destinations in Novi. Three clues will be given weekly on the Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Facebook page to help you find him. Post a photo of you and your family in the comments of that week’s clues when you find Bigfoot, and the family that finds Bigfoot the most will win a free week at Camp Lakeshore.

Turning Teen: Managing Emotions: Anxiety 101

Tweens often think there is something “wrong” with them when they experience stress, anxiety and worry. Come together with your child for an informational and educational presentation about anxiety, stress and worry. Your child will discover healthy ways to manage these emotions and you’ll find ways to support them through these normal feelings. This program will be taught by Social Worker, Michelle White LMSW.

Turning Teen: Being My Best Self

Being My Best Self is the second Turning Teen workshop for girls. The first program in the series is recommended, but not required for attendance. This program is recommended for girls ages 10 and up or girls who have started puberty. Being My Best Self is a mother-daughter workshop, intended to help facilitate and continue important conversations about body changes at home. Help your daughter understand and respect her changing body by giving her the information she needs to recognize the importance of self-care!

Turning Teen provides age appropriate, medically accurate information about puberty in an engaging and relaxed manner. We strive to initiate a healthy dialogue between parent and child early; allowing for conversations to continue as your child grows. This educational, interactive workshop is ideal for boys before puberty starts or at the beginning of puberty. This is an introduction to your body and its parts, the difference between boys and girls, what puberty does to our bodies and brains, rules for body respect, emotions and more.
