Upcoming Elections - Statewide General Election (Presidential Election) on Tuesday, November 3

The next election in the City of Novi is the Statewide General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. This election, in addition to the election of the President of the United States, includes State and County offices as well as school board members. More information on all candidates and ballot proposals can be located on the County Clerk's web page.  Election results can be viewed on the County Clerk’s web page as well after 8:00pm on election night.

The last day to register to vote by mail, or with any designated voter registration agency (e.g. County Clerk, Secretary of State Branch Office, etc.), for the November 3 election is Monday, October 19, 2020. After this date, voters can still register in-person at the City Clerk's Office with proof of residency until 8:00pm on Election Day.

Important Deadlines

  • Monday, October 19 - Last day to register to vote in any matter other than in-person at your local Clerk’s Office.
    • Tuesday, October 20 through Tuesday, November 3 until 8:00pm - A person may register to vote in-person at their local Clerk’s Office with proof of residency (See Voter Registration Information tab).
  • Friday, October 30 at 5:00pm - Deadline to request an absent voter ballot to be mailed via first class mail.
  • Monday, November 2 until 4:00pm - Last day for registered voters to request an absent voter ballot in-person at the Clerk’s Office. Ballots must be completed on site and cannot leave the building.
  • Tuesday, November 3 until 8:00pm - A person registering on Election Day in-person in the Clerk’s Office may obtain and vote an absent voter ballot or vote in their proper precinct.

Extended Hours for Election Related Business

The Novi City Clerk's Office is open for election related business during normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm.  We will also be open for in-person voter registration and absentee ballot requests on the following dates:

  • Thursday evenings in October until 7:00pm
  • Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 8:00am until 4:00pm
  • Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 8:00am until 4:00pm
