Senior Variety Series - Music, Movies, and Madness
 Join
us for a fun-filled romp through movies and music of yesteryear for
this show that is performed by older adults, for older adults! Come
help us bring your favorite moments to life, such as: As Time Goes
By, Singin’ in the Rain, Moon River and Swinging on a Star. Don’t
miss this opportunity to showcase your musical talent with other
seasoned performers. If you’re 50-ish or better, come join us.
Rehearsal schedule is flexible. Six performances September 10-20. No
experience necessary. Registration is at the first meeting, June 1.

ART CLASSES |
One Stroke Painting
Take one of these art classes or all of them! Using the One
Stroke painting technique you can learn to paint quickly, easily and
beautifully. Donna takes the intimidation out of painting, by
breaking down strokes to build lush, colorful flowers and whimsical
critters. With practice, any level of painter can accomplish
beautiful hand-painted projects and enjoy the satisfaction of
creativity. Donna Roskamp has been the #1 One Stroke instructor in
the nation for the last two years. She is a level II certified
instructor and HD specialist.
HD Poppies
 Paint like the masters! Learn the art
of painting beautiful canvases that look like oil, but aren’t.
Paint beautiful Poppies quickly and easily. A supply fee of 15.00
is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class.

COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE GROUPS |
Novi Concert Band
The Novi Concert Band invites interested adult musicians to join
the group. Become part of this band and meet new people who love to
play music. The Concert Band rehearses on Tuesday evenings from
7:30-9:30pm and performs throughout Novi and the surrounding area.

The Novi Choralaires
The Novi Choralaires is a community chorus serving Novi and the
surrounding area. Under the direction of Janet Wassilak, the
Choralaires perform concerts for the public and also at community
events. Auditions will be held in September by appointment. Please
contact Becky Staab at 248-348-2919. Rehearsals are Tuesday
evenings.

PERFORMANCE CLASSES |
 Performing Arts Academy
As part of the Novi Community fabric for the last 34 years,
Performing Arts Academy gives children the opportunity to discover
the joy of performing arts within qualified training programs. Our
educational efforts having been recognized and certified by Dance
Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, Dance Masters, of
Michigan, Cecchetti Council of America, Music Teachers National
Association and Michigan Music Teachers Association.
The academy has relocated to the Novi Ice Arena (42400 Arena
Drive). All classes and lessons will take place at the Novi Ice
Arena. Our instructors, training, and dedication remain the same and
we are committed to our student’s success.
Piano
Performing Arts Academy offers a piano program for children and
adults. The piano lessons are fun filled, and many students enjoy
various musical activities. Instruction includes music theory, ear
training, sight reading, and sight singing. Suzuki and traditional
methods are used. Students are encouraged to participate in the
Federation Festival and annual recital.
Vocal
Performing Arts Academy offers private vocal lesson instruction
for teens and adults with certified vocal and music teachers. Call

Dance
Dance improves gross and fine motor skills simultaneously
increasing flexibility, strength and stamina. Dance develops more
than just the physical aspect of a child it also enhances their
academic experiences. The performance opportunities build
self-esteem and promote confidence. Students experience the joy of
dance in a healthy program for all ages. We offer classes in tap,
jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, and musical theatre. Four program
areas will be offered to meet the interests and needs of all our
students:
- Weekly classes running to June concluding with an annual
recital performance
- Recreation eight week program
- Theatre Street Dance Company classes for the serious dancer
- Competitive Dance Team
September through June Classes and Competitive Dance Team

Ballet Technique Intensive Camp
This two-week camp is designed to strengthen ballet skills and
technique. Focus on building your ballet muscles as you keep your
skills fresh. Add the strength, stretch, leaps and turns workshop
for an additional boost. Two sessions to accommodate your busy
summer schedule.
