For several months, City Council’s Ordinance Review Committee (ORC)
has been deliberating over the sign regulations. The ORC spent
considerable time reviewing the ordinance. The ordinance proposal
they came up with represents a balance of meeting economic needs of
business while maintaining high standards and safety.
The proposed amendments were first presented to City Council on
July 10, 2006. The proposed Sign ordinance was adopted by City
Council in September 2006. Additional ordinance amendments
were recommended by the ORC and approved by the City Council in May
2008.
