Board of Review
Questions regarding the value placed on your property can be
reviewed by the Assessing Department. After reviewing, if you wish
to appeal the assessments, arrangements can be made for an
appointment before the Board of Review.
Commercial and industrial real properties are no longer required
to protest at the March Board of Review. However, valuation appeals
(residential real, personal property, and exemptions) must still be
protested at the March Board of Review to protect your right to
further appeal at the Michigan Tax Tribunal or State Tax Commission
(classification appeals).
Please use the Parcel Identification Number when referring to
your property so that your records can be quickly located.
The 2009 Board of Review will be held in the Council Chambers at
the Civic Center located at 45175 West Ten Mile Road. All
appearances before the Board of Review will be by appointment only.
If you or your representative wish to appear in person, the
appointment must be made on or before 5:00pm, EST, Friday, March 6,
2009, accompanied by a completed petition. Appearances before
the Board of Review are limited to five (5) minutes. Blank petition
forms are available upon request at the City Assessor’s Office or by
clicking on the link below.
