Press Release: Fatal home fire remains under
investigation

NOVI, Michigan, March 17, 2008 – A
fatal mobile home fire which occurred on March 15, 2008 remains
under investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, the
Novi Police Department and the Novi Fire Department.
According to the Oakland County
Medical Examiner’s Office, 58-year-old Kirt Bartsch died in the
Saturday morning blaze, located at 29809 Montmorency in the Hometown
Novi Mobile Home Park, of thermal burns and smoke inhalation. A
female occupant of the home escaped without injury.
At approximately 11:58am, the Novi Fire Department responded to a
9-1-1 call regarding the fire. Fire Department personnel arrived on
the scene within four minutes to a building engulfed in flames.
At approximately 12:57pm, the Novi Fire Department advised the
fire was under control.
The Novi Fire Department responds to
more than 4,000 incidents per year, with less than 50 of those being
structure fires.
