Recycling bin at curbsideRRRASOC stands for "Resource Recovery and Recycling Authority of Southern Oakland County."  Novi is a partner in RRRASOC with Farmington, Farmington Hills, South Lyon, Wixom, Southfield and Walled Lake.  There is a recycling center in Southfield, and one in Novi. The Novi Recycling Center (available to all RRRASOC communities) is located at the DPW Garage, 26300 Lee BeGole Drive.  The center is open daily from dawn to dusk. The DPW is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the RRRASOC recycling center.

RRRASOC Southfield Drop-Off Center

The Southfield Recycling Drop-Off Site is located in the parking lot of the RRRASOC Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at 20000 W. Eight Mile Road at the northeast corner of Evergreen and Eight Mile roads.  The site is available for use seven days per week, during daylight hours. Materials accepted at both the Southfield and Novi drop-off sites are the same as what is accepted for curbside recycling. The Southfield site will NO longer accept Styrofoam or electronics.

Please note that styrofoam, electronics and motor oil are not accepted at the Novi Recycling Center. Motor oil can be disposed of at the following location in Novi:

Motor oil can also be taken to any of the local Household Hazardous Waste Days listed below.

2018 Household Hazardous Waste

Novi residents can participate at all RRRASOC Waste Events.  Residents of the RRRASOC member communities may dispose of such materials at our household hazardous waste collection events. Those events provide residents with an opportunity to safely discard or recycle hazardous items.  Paper shredding is available at all of the following Household Hazardous Waste events. There is a 100 pound or three box limit per household. Residents of RRRASOC Member Communities may also bring Electronic waste to household hazardous waste collection events.

Shredding Days - First Saturday every month - 9am-12pm

Corrigan Record Storage offers Novi residents the opportunity to recycle up to 300 pounds of paper for a $5 charge, NAID Certified Secured Shredding.  The fee for more that 300 pounds is 10 cents per pound.  Hard drive destruction is also available for a $5 fee.

The Abitibi Paper Retriever® program promotes recycling by placing drop-off containers at participating schools and non-profit organizations.
