The City of Novi has classified this 1 1/3 Mile long segment as a high priority project for rehabilitation. There will be many added improvements to this roadway when complete: Added left turn lanes at the intersection of Taft and 11 Mile Roads; added and lengthened left turn lanes along the school frontages; the addition of two 5-foot wide bike lanes on either side of Taft Road along the entire length; and added motorist and pedestrian signage and signalization.
For the duration of this project, motorists can only travel northbound on Taft Road from 10 Mile Road to Grand River Avenue. Taft Road will be closed to southbound travel. The posted detour will be Grand River Avenue (east); Novi Road (south) and 10 Mile Road (west). Avoid the 10 Mile and Taft Road intersection on Wednesday, July 18th.
The contractor, Cadillac Asphalt, LLC has closed southbound Taft Road. On Wednesday, July 18th, the contractor will be milling and paving the Ten Mile and Taft Road intersection. It is highly recommended that all motorists avoid this intersection on this day. On Monday, July 23rd, the contractor plans to shift all traffic onto the recently completed southbound lanes and begin storm sewer, ditching and new concrete curb and gutter work on the northbound side.
