The City of Novi has classified this 1 1/3 Mile long segment as a high priority project for rehabilitation. There will be many added improvements to this roadway when complete: Added left turn lanes at the intersection of Taft and 11 Mile Roads; added and lengthened left turn lanes along the school frontages; the addition of two 5-foot wide bike lanes on either side of Taft Road along the entire length; and added motorist and pedestrian signage and signalization.
The contractor, Cadillac Asphalt, LLC has placed all remaining asphalt and reopened the roadway to two-way traffic on August 31, 2018. Some restoration and signage still remains, but will be handled during 9 am and 3 pm hours utilizing flag control. The two major items of work developed from the punch list walk-through were the re-establishment of the gravel shoulders and fixing a "dip" in the southbound lane, just north of Ten Mile Road which may need to take place in the spring of 2019.
Date of Substantial Completion: August 31, 2018
