Shredding Saturdays

First Saturday Every Month, 9am-12pm

Through a partnership with Corrigan Record Storage, Novi residents may recycle up to 300 pounds with NAID Certified Secured Shredding for a $5 fee. Over 300 pounds is $.05 per pound. Hard drive destruction is available for a $5 fee.

Novi Youth Council

In summer 2005, the Novi Youth Council adopted a policy resolution encouraging Novi youth to become civically active within the community as members of the Nov Youth Council. Each year the Novi City Council interviews and appoints school students to the Youth Council. The 21-member council is charged with making recommendations to the City Council concerning the needs of children, youth and families in the city and the appropriate means by which public and private agencies in cooperation with volunteer efforts may address such needs. The two year term will begin July 2018 and go through Dec 2019. Spring Robin Half Marathon

The Spring Robin Half Marathon, formerly the Novi Half Marathon, offers a Half Marathon, 10K & 5K. The Half Marathon, 10K & 5K courses are fat, fast and paved with scenic views of beautiful Island Lake. All races are scheduled to start and end at Novi Middle School, with a DJ on site. The Sponsor Expo with packet pickup and late registration will be held the day before the race. Race participants will receive a high-quality long-sleeve tech shirt. All participants will receive Finisher Medals. Age group awards are provided in the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K events. Part of the proceeds will go to the Novi Parks Foundation and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

MLB Pitch, Hit & Run

Pitch, Hit & Run™ is the official youth skills competition of Major League Baseball ®. This FREE competition at Ella Mae Power Park is an opportunity for young baseball and softball players to prove their ability to pitch, hit and run among the best in their age group. This competition provides players the chance to advance through three rounds of competition and compete in the national finals on an all-expense paid trip to the MLB All-Star Game in Washington D.C. Finalists will compete on-field prior to shagging fly balls during the Home Run Derby and attend the All-Star Game.

Turning Teen: Body Basics

Turning Teen provides age appropriate, medically accurate information about puberty in an engaging and relaxed manner. This educational, interactive workshop is ideal for girls before puberty starts or at the beginning of puberty. This is an introduction to a body and its parts, the difference between boys and girls, physical and emotional changes that happen during puberty, rules for body respect, emotions and more. Turning Teen: Being My Best Self

Being My Best Self is the 2nd Turning Teen workshop for girls. The first program in the series is recommended, but not required for attendance. This program is recommended for girls ages 10 and up or girls who have started puberty. Being My Best Self is a mother-daughter workshop, intended to help facilitate and continue important conversations about body changes at home. Girls will learn important tips about taking care of and respecting their bodies, including information about skin care, shaving, bras and details about period and period care. After the program, there is an interactive activity to help girls understand how to use monthly sanitary items. Help your daughter understand and respect her changing body by giving her the information that she needs to recognize the importance of self-care! Novi Memorial Day Run

The day’s festivities will include a 5K and 10K starting at 8am, and a mile fun run starting at 9am. Part of the proceeds goes to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Novi Parks Foundation. If you bring a canned food item, are a Veteran, or are a returning runner from a year ago, save $5 on registration fee. In 2017, more than 700 runners participated and it made for a great day. Participants will also receive a free shirt for registering. Following the race, stick around for the Memorial Day Parade and show your Novi pride.

The Great Campout

Take part in the ultimate family activity – The Great Campout at Lakeshore Park. Activities at Lakeshore include hot dog cookout, lawn games, open beach until 8pm, fire pits with s’mores, Walled Lake Fireworks, Campfire Storytime and a continental breakfast the following morning. The evening offers tent camping only on a 15x15 site with an adult present. There is a limit of two tents per site and SIX PEOPLE PER SITE. No pets. No refunds for this event. In case of inclement weather, camp at own risk. A $10 late fee applies following the registration date, up until the Friday before the event, if space is available.

Novi Nights Group Mountain Bike Rides

Novi Nights is a beginner-friendly group ride hosted by the Motor City Mountain Biking Association. The ride has stopping points to regroup along the trail. All skill levels are welcome. Riders often enjoy a post ride gathering at Lakeview Bar and Grill.

Motor City Mountain Biking Association & Team Tree Farm Tree Farm Relay

Get ready for the 13th Annual Tree Farm Relay Event at Lakeshore Park in Novi, presented by the MCMBA and Team Tree Farm. This is the same format you have all grown to love… a unique 4-person team relay race! The course features lots of hills, passing zones and fun! This is a perfect race for the beginner looking to see what team / endurance racing is all about and for experienced racers looking to test their skills against rival teams. If you want to try an endurance race, but aren’t ready for the distance, this is the perfect event for you to see what the team racing concept is all about.

Movie on the Shore

Join us for the final outdoor concert and movie of the season presented by Park It. The evening will be filled with lots of family fun activities; face painting, bounce house, giveaways and so much more. A food truck and Kona Ice truck will be on site for you to purchase delicious treats. The band, The Revivors, will start at 6:15pm and Sherlock Gnomes will start playing at 7:45pm. Make sure you get there early to get the best seat in the house.
