presentation of the annual Novi Business Recognition Awards
on Monday, November 23, 2009. Reception will be from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.

 Novi Fire Department offers cooking safety tips -
Kitchen fires increase during the holiday season
Cooking fires are the leading cause of home fires and home fire
injuries in the United States. Nearly all cooking equipment fires
start with the ignition of food, other cooking materials (e.g.,
grease, cooking oil), or other items normally found or installed in
a kitchen (e.g., cabinets, wall coverings, paper or plastic bags,
curtains).

 Ringing in the
Holidays - Friday, December 4, 2009 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm
The City of Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department,
in partnership with ITC, is gearing up for the holiday season and
the annual Ringing in the Holidays event. The event, which includes
the Electric Light Parade, Santa visits, children’s marshmallow
mania area, live performances, great refreshments and more, will
take place on Friday, December 4 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Main Street, Novi.

 Solar Panels/Energy & Wind
Turbine Ordinance Amendments & Surveys
Novi is going green and the Community Development Department is
considering 1) a text amendment to address the installation of solar panels at
both residences and businesses throughout the community, and 2) a text amendment
to address the siting and design of wind turbines to harness wind energy.

 Pathway and Sidewalk
Prioritization Analysis and Process - 2009 Update
Since October 2006, the City of Novi has built over 19,000 feet of
pathways and sidewalks within its borders. Since its adoption in
December of 2006, the City of Novi’s Pathway and Sidewalk
Prioritization Analysis and Process (PSPAP) has been used as a tool
to help develop the City’s sidewalk and pathway construction
schedules.
